I have been so busy welcoming new people nearly every weekend (this year most people have booked just a week - next year they seem to be planning longer stays of two and three weeks in the main) and also having family to stay that I have had no time at all to catch up on the blog or even upload my photographs.  The lavender was/is particularly good this year due to all the dry weather and sunshine...

We went for a really lovely walk earlier this week in a local wood which has a right of way through it. They smell heavenly. I have been seeing these bluebells flower every year for 30 years now!

Now, a sad bit of news.   I had noticed that the 'happy couple' had not been around for a few days although I could hear him call in the field next door.  After doing a bit of gardening at the far end of our garden, I came across a huge pile of female pheasant feathers.  I can only think it is our pretty little girl pheasant who had so happily been in the company of our handsome Mr Pheasant for so...

Here is Stratford's pedestrianised Henley Street, in the quiet of winter but this weekend it will be buzzing with the combinations of celebrations to commemorate Shakespeare (he was both born and died on St George's Day, allegedly) and the start of the Stratford upon Avon Literary Festival.  See here for the line up of events!
