Lavender Pruning
We have a lot of lavender in the house garden and usually a big pot of it on the cottage garden patio and I have been a bit tardy about pruning. Normally one is advised not to prune right back into old wood but the lavender in the courtyard has got a bit wild and big, so much so that the cars driving to our house and cottage have the driving space considerably narrowed. It does produce a lovely smell if they drive over it but it is not ideal! This is how it looked on the left hand side just before pruning - still producing new flowers in October, which is the reason I held off pruning for so long....
and this is how it looks now on the right hand side - ouch! I hope I haven't treated it too drastically! Some tulip bulbs have gone in behind it so we look forward to Spring!
