Pubs and Restaurants

We are spoilt for choice for dining options in this area but I always hesitate to recommend anywhere to guests as a meal out experience is very subjective and one man's meat is another man's poison! However I do tell our guests which places we have enjoyed lately (and things change with management and chef changes, or even a bad night for a waiter so recommendations are always given together with 'no guarantee' caution. Our local pub offers 10% discount to our guests on food. You just have to tell them that you are staying with us when you book or before you get your bill. Also a very good dining pub in the next village gives us £10 vouchers to give to you if you are dining between Tuesday and Friday and are at least 2 people eating three courses. Both of these places have been good eating experiences for us. There are many restaurants in Chipping Campden, Shipston on Stour and Stratford on Avon, as well as further afield that offer menus from every corner of the globe so if you ask me, e.g. where you can get a good curry, I tell you where I think you would!

The Good Pub Guide for 2016 has just been published and we are fortunate in that amongst the 14 BEST PUBS IN BRITAIN are no less than 4 which are within a 12 mile drive! The Horse and Groom at Bourton on the Hill which wins the Pub of the Year award and the Fleece at Bretforton (Country Pub of the Year), The Porch at Stow on the Wold (New Pub of the Year) and The Crown and Trumpet at Broadway (Value Pub of the Year).

For those for whom puddings are major feature, look no further than The Pudding Club at Mickleton, a few miles away.
